Gia is a freshman majoring in psychology. Raised in Hawaii, Gia grew up surrounded by diverse communities, which inspired her passion for understanding people and supporting those who may feel unheard or unsupported. That lived experience shaped her goal of becoming someone others can rely on, especially those who feel like they do not have a strong support system. Her first year at Dominican has already been a meaningful one, where she has enjoyed meeting new people, learning more about herself, and discovering the kind of impact she hopes to make in the world. One of her most memorable experiences so far has been joining the track team, where she has formed lasting connections with teammates.

Looking ahead, Gia hopes to become an art therapist, blending her passion for psychology and creativity to help others express themselves and work through challenges. She also dreams of exploring tattoo artistry as a creative outlet. For Gia, being selected as Student of the Month is a meaningful recognition that she has made a positive impact and that her efforts are seen and valued by her school community. Outside of academics, one of her favorite things to cook is loco moco, a dish that reminds her of home in Hawaii and family celebrations. For her, it is more than just a meal, it is a comforting connection to her roots.
